 To install the custom ROM and Gapps on your Galaxy S5 smartphone, you will need to download and install the TWRP recovery on your Galaxy S5 via Odin tool. To do that, follow the prerequisites below:


  • Back-up important data.
  • Download the Odin Tool.
  • Download the TWRP recovery image for the Galaxy S5 model.
  • Download the latest USB Driver for Galaxy S5.
  • Charge your phone to at least 80% or above.

Step To Flash TWRP Recovery on Galaxy S5

Step 1: You need to enable the OEM unlock on your Galaxy S5. To do that, go to the “settings->About phone->Build number”. Tap on “Build number” several time until the developer option gets enabled. After that, go to the developer option. Locate the “OEM Unlock” option and enable it.

Step 2: Extract the downloaded Odin Tool zip file and then go the extracted folder and right click on the Odin.exe file and “run as administrator”.

Step 3: After that, boot your Galaxy S5 into download mode. To do that, press and hold volume downpower and home buttons simultaneously until you see the warning message on the screen. When you see so, press the volume down or volume up button to enter into Odin or download mode.

Step 4: Connect your Galaxy S5 to your computer via original cable and you will see the Odin tool will automatically detect your smartphone.

Step 5: IN Odin tool, go to the “Options’ tab and uncheck the “Auto reboot” and “Re-partition” options.

Step 6: Now, click on the “AP” button on the Odin tool and then browse and locate the TWRP recovery image that you have downloaded before for your Galaxy S5. It will be in the form of .tar extension, select it, and add it to the Odin tool.

Step 7: Click on the “Start” button on the Odin tool and it will flash the TWRP recovery image on your Galaxy S5. Wait for the installation to complete.

That’s it, you have successfully installed TWRP recovery image on your Galaxy S5.

Steps To Flash Custom and Gapps on Galaxy S5

First of all, follow the pre-requisites below in order to install the custom ROM:


  • Download the latest SuperSU.
  • Root your device with SuperSU.


Step 1: Connect your Galaxy S5 to your computer and then transfer all the downloaded SuperSU, custom ROM and Gapp files to the internal storage of your smartphone.

Step 2: Boot your Galaxy S5 into TWRP recovery. To do that, switch OFF your smartphone, then press and hold Volume Up, Power and Home buttons simultaneously until you see the TWRP logo. After that, you will successfully enter into the TWRP recovery mode.

Step 3: In TWRP recovery, click on the “install” option in the main menu. Now, locate the downloaded SuperSU file and select it. After that, swipe the slider located at the bottom on TWRP recovery to flash SuperSU in order to root your Galaxy S5.

Step 4: Go back to the main menu, Tap on the “install” option. This time you will need to locate the downloaded custom ROM file in the internal storage of your phone and then select and add it. Now, swipe the slider locate at the bottom to flash the custom ROM.

Step 5: Wait for the installation process to complete and then reboot your smartphone. Note: you will need to reboot into TWRP recovery again in order to install Gapps.

Step 6: Again, In TWRP recovery tap on “Install” and then locate the Gapps file in the internal storage of your smartphone and then select & add it. Swipe the slider located at the bottom and it will flash the Gapps. Finally, reboot your Galaxy S5.

Now, this time you need to reboot into OS and you will see the custom ROM has been successfully installed on your smartphone.
